DUI task force arrests 260

More than 260 DUI arrests were made this month when the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force went out over nine days.
The deployments occurred over the Cinco de Mayo holiday, during graduation season and the Memorial Day weekend, according to a news release from the Task Force.
There were no fatal collisions, but there were seven minor DUI-related collisions, according to the news release.
The Task Force reported that there were 136 designated drivers. Nearly two dozen of the people who were arrested during the deployments were repeat offenders, it said.
The average blood alcohol content for adults was 0.159 almost twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent, while the average BAC for people under 21 was 0.098.
Additionally, the Pima County Sheriff's Department conducted five sobriety checkpoints, resulting in 2,326 stops and seven DUI arrests.
