Underage drinking topic of town halls
In an effort to tackle underage drinking in Tucson, there will be a series of town-hall meetings, one of which will be held this morning.
The purpose of the meetings is to educate parents, teachers, youth and other community members about the impact of underage drinking and ways to address it, according to a news release from the Pima Prevention Partnership.
The town hall today is geared toward teens ages 14-19 and will be held at 10 a.m. at the Tucson Youth Development/ ACE Charter High School, 1929 N. Stone Ave.
Panelists include a Tucson Police Department DUI officer, the Arizona president of Students Against Destructive Decisions, City Council Ward 3 Chief of Staff Miguel Ortega, and others who have been affected by underage drinking.
